During a working visit to Ogun State, the Minister stressed the importance of sensitization and awareness-raising efforts to prevent human trafficking. She encouraged mothers to cherish their daughters and help protect them from exploitation, noting that many opportunities exist for young women in Nigeria.
Safeguarding the Future
Sulaiman-Ibrahim called for stricter measures to safeguard Nigerian girls and women from trafficking and exploitation. She emphasized the need for safe and legitimate pathways for those seeking opportunities abroad, rather than relying on dubious arrangements.
The Minister praised President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to enhancing the status of women in Nigeria, highlighting the administration’s goal of producing female billionaires, entrepreneurs, and professionals to drive economic growth. She noted that the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development’s budgetary allocation has consistently increased, reflecting the government’s dedication to women’s development.
Supporting Women’s Development in Ogun State
Sulaiman-Ibrahim commended the Ogun State Government for investing in women’s development and announced donations to support the state’s initiatives.
