The Edo State Police Command has recorded a notable success in its ongoing campaign to combat crime and curb the proliferation of illegal firearms within the state. On October 31, 2025, officers from the Ehor Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, CSP Akwaha Steven, executed a targeted bush combing operation across the Egbisi, Equaholor, and Uhi communities.
In collaboration with local vigilante groups, the operation focused on dismantling criminal hideouts concealed within dense vegetation. The effort resulted in the recovery of three single-barreled shotguns and the arrest of two suspects, identified as Julius Omagbogwu (30) and Omika Musa (45), in connection with unlawful possession of firearms. An in-depth investigation is currently ongoing to trace the source of the recovered weapons and to disrupt the criminal network associated with the suspects.
Commissioner of Police, Edo State Command, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, commended the professionalism, vigilance, and proactive intelligence gathering demonstrated by the Ehor Division and their vigilante partners. He reassured the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all communities across Edo State.
