Kaka Igbokwe, former manager of Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia (2Baba) and son of late legend Christy Essien‑Igbokwe, confirmed that a video showing 2Baba being arrested in London is authentic. The clip, which surfaced on social media on December 1, shows the singer being handcuffed after a heated argument with his pregnant wife, Natasha Osawaru, a lawmaker in Edo State.
Igbokwe, who was on the same flight to the United Kingdom and part of the London team, recounted the incident during a live Instagram session with Daddy Freeze. He said that after landing at Gatwick Airport, 2Baba walked away with fans and entered a shop, leaving Osawaru behind. When the singer realized she was missing, he returned, but an argument ensued and police intervened, leading to his arrest.
The arrest follows 2Baba’s absence from a scheduled concert on October 2, 2025. He later explained that he missed the show because of a medical emergency and denied any altercation. The recent video, however, reignited the controversy, with blogger Tosin Silverdam posting additional footage that he claimed shows the arrest and a jealous confrontation between the couple.
Police have not issued an official statement regarding the incident, and 2Baba’s representatives have yet to comment further.
The story has prompted widespread discussion online, with many Nigerians revisiting earlier rumors about the singer’s personal life.
