Residents of Ogheghe and Charismatic Road, off Ekenhuan Road in Benin City, have expressed appreciation to Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for his sustained commitment to infrastructure development across the State.

The residents lauded the ongoing construction of their road, describing the project as a long-awaited intervention that has brought relief to the community after years of neglect and abandonment.
One of the residents, Mr. Osas Uyi, said the poor condition of the road had subjected residents to persistent hardship, especially during the rainy season.
“The deplorable condition of this road caused serious hardship for all of us, particularly during the rainy season when erosion, flooding and deep potholes made movement almost impossible,” he stated.
Other residents noted that commercial drivers often avoided the route due to its bad state, forcing commuters to trek long distances before accessing transportation.
They also lamented that businesses within the area suffered major setbacks as customers found it difficult to reach shops and offices.
Some shop owners along Charismatic Road disclosed that the ongoing construction by the Edo State Government has already restored confidence among residents and investors. They expressed optimism that upon completion, the project would boost economic activities, enhance accessibility and improve security in the neighbourhood.
A trader, popularly known as Mama Peace, who sells roasted plantain at the Charismatic junction, urged the contractors to maintain high standards and deliver quality work within the stipulated timeframe.
“Our advice to the contractors is to uphold high standards and deliver quality work on schedule. We also pledge our continued support for Governor Monday Okpebholo’s development agenda,” she said.
The residents described the road project as clear evidence of the Governor’s dedication to grassroots development and his resolve to improve the living conditions of the people of Edo State.
