The Edo State Police Command has concluded arrangements to ensure a peaceful and secure environment as Muslim faithful celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitr.

A total of 5,000 police personnel have been deployed across the state to boost visibility, secure public spaces and ensure swift response to any emerging threats. The deployment covers Eid prayer grounds, major roads, motor parks and other high-traffic locations expected to witness large gatherings.
The Command has also positioned Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams to conduct security sweeps at designated prayer grounds and other strategic areas.
The operation is aimed at detecting and neutralising potential threats, with checks expected to continue throughout the celebration period.
Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, has directed sustained patrols and intelligence-led operations, with particular focus on entry and exit points into the state.
Residents have been urged to go about their lawful activities without fear, while remaining vigilant and reporting any suspicious movements or objects to the police.
The Command assured that adequate security presence will be maintained before, during and after the festivities, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
The Police also extended Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim faithful, wishing them a peaceful and joyous celebration.
