The Ehume Omagwu Autonomous Community in Umuahia South LGA, Abia State, has vowed to flush out suspected criminal elements selling illicit drugs to youths in the area
The community’s traditional ruler, HRH Eze-Elect Chukwudike John-Osuagwu, made the pledge during an exclusive interview with our correspondent on Monday.
He argued that removing those who sell harmful substances would cut the risk of drug abuse to the barest minimum. “When those selling harmful substances are chased away from the community, the risk of drug abuse will be reduced to the least minimum,” he said.
The monarch added that once illicit drugs become difficult for youths to access, the community can step in to help them acquire meaningful skills and earn a living.
