Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, on Tuesday led a delegation of political leaders and dignitaries to celebrate former Edo State governor, Lucky Igbinedion, on his 69th birthday.
The governor and members of his entourage visited the residence of the former governor, where they were warmly received by the celebrant and his wife, Eki Igbinedion.
Governor Okpebholo exchanged pleasantries with Chief Igbinedion before proceeding into the hall where guests and well-wishers gathered to honour the former governor on the occasion of his birthday celebration.
Among dignitaries present at the reception were chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Tom Ikimi; Deputy Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Sylvester Aigboboh; and Edo State representative on the Governing Board of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Patrick Aisowieren, among others.
Chief Igbinedion served as governor of Edo State from 1999 to 2007 and was the first civilian governor of the state in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic. He also served as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, where he worked alongside other state governors on national development initiatives.
