“Jigsaw Approves ₦586 Million for Maigatari Border Free Zone Upgrade to Drive Cross Border Trade and Economic Growth”
The Jigawa State Government has approved ₦586 million for the renovation and modernization of the Maigatari Border Free Zone, a strategic economic hub expected to strengthen cross border trade, attract private investment, and stimulate job creation across northern Nigeria.
The investment forms part of the state’s broader economic development agenda aimed at positioning Jigawa as a key gateway for regional commerce within West Africa. Officials say the upgraded border free zone will improve infrastructure, enhance trade facilitation, and provide a more enabling environment for businesses operating along the Nigeria Niger trade corridor.
