“Meet Tamunosoye Karibi George: 26 Year Old Nigerian Queen Set to Fly the Flag at Miss World 2026 in Vietnam”
Tamunosoye Karibi George, a 26 year old communications professional and model from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is set to represent Nigeria at the 2026 Miss World Festival in Vietnam after emerging winner of the Miss World Nigeria 2026 pageant. Karibi George, who represented Bayelsa State in the national competition, defeated 19 other finalists at the grand finale held on June 6, 2026, at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. The competition was held under the theme, “Pride, Power, and Purpose.”
Beyond her modelling and pageantry career, Karibi George has drawn attention for her advocacy work through Beyond Labels, an initiative focused on promoting inclusion, dignity and opportunities for children with disabilities and special needs. She has also been involved in climate advocacy, vocational skills development and youth empowerment programmes, reflecting the social impact focus associated with the Miss World platform’s “Beauty with a Purpose” initiative.
Her victory means Karibi George succeeds Joy Mojisola Raimi as Miss World Nigeria. Raimi represented Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World Festival in India, where she advanced to the Top 20 and finished among the Top Five contestants from Africa. Karibi George will now carry Nigeria’s hopes into the 73rd Miss World Festival, scheduled for August 9 to September 5, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The Miss World Nigeria title is organized by the Silverbird Group and serves as Nigeria’s national platform for selecting a representative for the international Miss World competition. With her advocacy centred on children with special needs and inclusion, Karibi George’s international campaign will combine the visibility of pageantry with a message of social responsibility as she seeks to make an impact on the global stage.
