Navy don  Discover 3 Illegal Oil Refineries, 6 Reservoirs With 99,000 Litres of  Crude oil.

Nigerian Navy don make another big move for di fight against crude oil theft and illegal oil refining after e discover three suspected illegal refining sites, six reservoirs and about 99,000 litres of petroleum products wey dem suspect say na stolen crude oil and illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO).

Di Navy say dem make di discoveries for Rivers and Delta States during separate operations wey personnel from NNS SOROH and NNS DELTA carry out on August 31, 2026.

According to di Navy, di operations come after dem receive credible intelligence about suspected illegal petroleum activities for di areas.

During di operation, di naval personnel reportedly discover different equipment and structures wey dem suspect say people dey use for illegal oil refining. Among di things wey dem find na three illegal refining sites, six reservoirs, one large refining oven and storage facilities.

Some of di reservoirs also contain products wey di Navy suspect say na stolen crude oil, while some of di recovered products na Automotive Gas Oil, wey people commonly dey call diesel.

Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, wey be Director of Naval Information, say di operation na another step for di Navy campaign to stop crude oil theft and illegal refining for di Niger Delta.

He explain say di discovery don disrupt some of di infrastructure wey criminal networks dey depend on to store and process stolen petroleum products.

Di Navy also say dem handle di recovered products, facilities and equipment according to established procedures.

Di latest operation show say security agencies dey continue to increase pressure on illegal oil refining activities for Rivers and Delta, as government dey try reduce crude oil theft and protect Nigeria’s petroleum resources.

Crude oil theft and illegal refining don remain major challenge for Nigeria, especially for di Niger Delta, where such activities fit cause environmental damage, loss of government revenue and serious danger to communities.
