The student union has condemn the shooting of their comrade and treasured finalist Student, Juliana Martins by one “Trigger-Happy” Emmanuel Oyibo, an officer of the Nigerian Police Force.
According to the statement by the SUG secretary, comrade Oredia Destiny, who was sad, regarding the shooting, said Juliana martins is a peaceful, friendly and well-meaning Nigerian and as such, she should not be treated like a common criminal.
meanwhile one of the eye witness who spoke with obaland magazine, Kenny isokpan said the students were standing at the entrance gate of NPDC with DOP ogba Division and other security personnel
he added that The students delegates 7man Committee was with the DPO ogba Division, csp evelyn, for a meeting with NPDC managerment, when Emmanuel oyibo drove down with mask Police officers and took teargas out, The DPO rushed down to him not to open fire he push the DPO out of his way, he said, and he open fire some student refused to run, He brought out Ak 47 gun and started shooting at the students, In present of the DPO &DSS officials who gave the students cover, he added.
The student union stated that they will abide for Juliana martins and they will be back with feedback.
You will recall that the police on their statement on the 28 of October 2021, stated that no edo police operative was involved in shooting of protesters.
