The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of laying administrative landmines to prevent it from fielding candidates in the 2027 general elections. The party claims INEC’s refusal to recognize its leadership, led by Senator David Mark, is a deliberate attempt to exclude it from the electoral process.

ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that INEC’s position contradicts its earlier recognition of the party’s leadership and is a threat to Nigeria’s democracy. The party has given INEC 72 hours to reverse its decision, warning of nationwide protests if it fails to comply.
