Students of Aiwerioba Ugiogo Grammar School in Ugoneki, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area of Edo State, were all smiles as members of the school’s Old Students Association donated 50 pairs of school uniforms, five customized exercise books, and Oxford sets of mathematical instruments to each junior secondary school student. In addition, 29 senior secondary school students also benefited from free mathematical sets.
The donation, carried out on October 2, 2025, was driven by the alumni’s desire to revive the school’s lost glory and improve learning conditions. Before the intervention, many junior students reportedly lacked uniforms, but the gesture brought an instant transformation in their appearance and confidence.
Two beneficiaries, Theophilus and Emmanuelle of JSS 1, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the alumni, praying for God’s blessings upon them. Representing the principal, the Vice Principal, Mr. Ehiosun Andrew, lauded the association’s initiative, describing it as the first of its kind since the school’s establishment. He, however, appealed for further assistance, especially in providing chairs and desks, which remain inadequate.
Speaking during the presentation, the Vice General Secretary of the association, Mrs. Itohan Ogiogo, said the donation reflects the group’s mission to support the school and motivate students toward academic excellence. She urged other old students to emulate the gesture and contribute to the development of their former schools.
Also present at the event were Mr. Mobogwu Lawrence, South-South Coordinator; Mr. Okoh Ighodaro, Project Supervisor 1; and Mr. Elvis Ugiagbe, Project Supervisor 2, who jointly supervised the exercise.
