The newly elected executive of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Monday Okpebholo for second terms in office, citing what it described as their outstanding performance.

Delegates from the 192 wards across Edo State converged on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at the Sir Victor Uwaifo Hub in Benin City for the party’s state congress. In a unanimous voice affirmation, the 36-member state executive, led by Jarrett Tenebe, was returned for another four-year term.

In his acceptance speech, Tenebe said the re-elected executive had formally endorsed President Tinubu and Governor Okpebholo, noting that both leaders have demonstrated strong leadership and delivered impactful governance for Nigerians and Edo residents.
Tenebe also announced the endorsement of former Edo State governor and senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, for a second term in the Senate, describing his representation as effective and people-oriented.
“This unanimous voice affirmation is a call to duty, and we are ready to discharge our responsibility to ensure the party continues to put Edo people first, while supporting the governor to sustain his developmental strides,” Tenebe said.
He thanked delegates for their trust and confidence, pledging that the executive would steer the affairs of the party to greater heights. He also expressed appreciation to party faithful for their steadfast support, which he said strengthened unity within the party.
Tenebe noted that the tenure coincides with the implementation of Governor Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda, which he described as a transformational blueprint aimed at repositioning Edo State for sustainable development. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting the successful execution of the agenda.
Chairman of the National Congress Committee, Hon. Kabiru Ajana, said the committee was mandated to conduct elections into the 36 state executive positions. He noted that the exercise reflected unity within the party, as all positions were returned unopposed following screening, with no appeals recorded.
Ajana commended the peaceful conduct of the congress and lauded the governor for fostering unity within the Edo APC.
Also speaking, Senator Oshiomhole described the congress as seamless and symbolic of party cohesion in the state, commending delegates for their cooperation.
Other dignitaries at the congress included Minister for Regional Development Abubakar Momoh; Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa; Secretary to the Edo State Government, Barr. Musa Ikhilor; and other top party leaders and members.
