Adams secured the party’s ticket after defeating Bankole by a wide margin during the APC primary exercise held in Lagos, reinforcing his political influence within the Eti Osa axis and consolidating his standing ahead of the forthcoming legislative elections.

Party delegates and stakeholders who participated in the primary described the process as largely peaceful and competitive, with supporters of the majority leader celebrating the outcome as a reflection of his political grassroots strength and legislative record in the constituency.

The victory further positions Adams as one of the prominent figures within the All Progressives Congress structure in Lagos, particularly in Eti Osa, a politically strategic constituency known for its influence in Lagos politics.

Political analysts note that the outcome of the primary may shape the political dynamics within the constituency ahead of the general elections, especially as the APC seeks to maintain its longstanding dominance in Lagos State. Observers also point to the growing significance of internal party primaries in determining the future direction of local governance and legislative representation across Nigeria.

Although Adams’ camp welcomed the outcome as a democratic endorsement of his leadership, attention is expected to shift toward reconciliation efforts within the party to ensure unity among supporters of competing aspirants before the next electoral phase.

The APC primaries across several states have continued to attract national attention amid intense political negotiations, strategic alliances, and heightened competition among party loyalists seeking elective offices.
