The Edo State APC Chairman Mr Jarret Tenebe has said that the party is unwavering in its confidence as it faces Asue Akintunde Ighodalo and the PDP at the election tribunal beginning Monday.
According to Mr. Jarret Tenebe, “No mandate was stolen, and we are fully prepared to confront Ighodalo and his party with authentic facts and figures.”
He said, “The September 21 governorship election was free, fair, and transparent, with the people of Edo decisively choosing Senator Monday Okpebholo as their governor. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed this by declaring him the winner with 291,667 votes—a clear victory over the PDP and other contenders.
According to Mr Tenebe, “Ighodalo’s decision to proceed to the tribunal is his right, but we believe it will amount to nothing more than an academic exercise. We in the APC have no fear,” Tenebe said. “We will still emerge victorious.”
The APC leader said, “While lawyers, including Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs), may see this as an opportunity to cash in on prolonged litigations, the APC remains confident that the tribunal will uphold the mandate freely given to us by the good people of Edo”.
“We assure our supporters and well-meaning Edo citizens that this distraction will not deter us from focusing on delivering the developmental promises of Senator Okpebholo. The APC is ready, and truth will once again prevail”, he said.
