A daring daylight robbery occurred in Minna, the Niger State capital, when armed men attacked a petrol dealer and made off with N8 million. The incident happened on Monday morning when the dealer was on his way to the bank to deposit the cash, which was the sales he made over the weekend.
According to an eyewitness, four armed men in a Toyota Corolla car double-crossed the dealer’s Mercedes-Benz vehicle and forced him to stop at gunpoint. The robbers then opened the boot of the car and carted away a sack containing the N8 million.
The Niger State Commissioner of Police, Adam Elleman, has directed Area Commanders in Minna and the Divisional Police Officer in Tudun-Wada to swing into action and arrest the suspects. The police spokesperson confirmed the incident and stated that the command is conducting a forensic investigation to track down the culprits.
The victim has been advised to officially report the incident to the nearest police station. The police are working to ensure that the suspects are apprehended and the stolen funds are recovered.
