Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Expresses Support for Governor Oyebanji

The Treasurer of the Ekiti State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Mosunmola Adeyemi, has commended Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his commitment to local government autonomy and non-interference in the funds of the local governments. Adeyemi, who is also the Chairman of the Ikole West Local Council Development Area, made this statement during a press briefing in Ado Ekiti.

Adeyemi highlighted the positive impact of Governor Oyebanji’s leadership on the development of the local councils. She stated that under his administration, there has been visible progress and development, and the local governments have experienced the benefits of autonomy. She urged everyone to support Governor Oyebanji for a second term in office, emphasizing the need to continue the ongoing developments in the state.Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Expresses Support for Governor Oyebanji

ALGON’s expression of support for Governor Oyebanji comes shortly after the Supreme Court ruled that state governments must stop tampering with local government funds and appointing caretakers for local governments. The chairmen of the 38 local government areas and local council development areas in Ekiti State also lauded Governor Oyebanji for the positive changes witnessed in the state during his administration.

Oluwaseun Ojo, the Chairman of Ekiti ALGON, stated that the support for Governor Oyebanji is crucial to ensure the continuity of development in all areas, including the grassroots level. The communique issued at the end of the meeting held in Ado Ekiti emphasized the collective endorsement of Governor Oyebanji for a second term in office by the entire members of ALGON, Ekiti State Chapter.

The communique highlighted the exceptional leadership and commitment of Governor Oyebanji to the well-being of the people of Ekiti State. It acknowledged the advancements in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and education under his administration, as well as his dedication to economic development and social justice. The communique also praised Governor Oyebanji’s handling of local government affairs, which has received accolades both within and outside the state.

ALGON called on the people of Ekiti State to come together and support Governor Oyebanji for a second term so that the positive works and progress can continue. The endorsement of Governor Oyebanji by ALGON demonstrates the recognition and appreciation of his efforts in bringing about positive change and development in Ekiti State.

The support from ALGON serves as a vote of confidence in Governor Oyebanji and reaffirms the need for his leadership to continue in order to sustain the achievements made and ensure the overall benefit of the state.
