Dr (Mrs) Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor MRCOG, MBBS, MSc Public Health Research, MSc Clinical Ed, and PhD Law & Criminology (in view)

Dr Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor was born to the family of Prince Richard Osariogiuwa Harold Ogboro and Mrs Rose Aghaku Ogboro. A true daughter of Edo State in every sense of the word, with a blended heritage that cuts across four local government areas (LGAs) of Edo State including Esan Central, Esan South-East, Uhunmwode and Oredo LGAs of Edo State.

NGO Renovates Classrooms for Displaced Children in Edo State, Bringing Hope to IDP Camp Learners

Happily married to Dr. Douglas Okor MBBS, MRCSEd, FRCSEd, a Consultant Neurosurgeon who is very passionate about revamping Nigeria’s Healthcare System with not just his neurovascular, complex skull base, pituitary and complex spine surgery skills but also by disseminating & providing solutions to health care issues.

Dr (Mrs) Ogboro-Okor is one who has the audacity of an Edo State Princess and navigates challenges with an uncommon grace. A trait that led to her continued attainment of excellence across multiple career path ways.

A Nigerian UK trained Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, she has been able to blend her work in the science field of medical practise with being an author (she authored the book My Father’s Daughter, she has written and contributed to various publications including the Journal of Medical and Basic Scientific Research where she is a member of the editorial board).

She is a passionate motivational speaker, women and youth health advocate, educationist and medical simulation trainer as well as a social entrepreneur and an ardent blogger.

She completed her primary education at Lydia primary school and gained admission on national merit to the Federal Government Girl’s College Benin City, where she became Head-girl and passed the WAEC examination with all As.

She studied medicine at the University of Benin College of Medical Sciences.
She holds a masters in Public Health Research from the University of Edinburgh and another in Clinical Education from Sheffield Hallam University.

She has a Ph.D. in Law and Criminology in view from Sheffield Hallam University.
She is President of the University of Benin Alumni Association, UK and recently, she was made Chair, BoT of Creative Leadership Initiative Project (CLIP); a UK based Charity set up to advance the education and relief of poverty amongst children, women & young adults in poor resource societies.

She set up “Loretta Reveals” a positive life changing motivational space where you get your regular doses of all things inspirational to inspire people worldwide; sharing stories of enterprise, excellence and achievement against all odds. She also co-founded Ashanti Graham Health & Education Initiative Foundation (AGHEIF) in 2010 – a charity with the vision “21st Century Health Care for Africa.”

Loretta is passionate about “Cultural Integration” in African communities as a means to tackling women’s Reproductive and Mental Health issues as well as trafficking.

Aside from her own charity, she does voluntary work with other Charities/NGOs & community commitments. Amongst these are her work with Association Against Women Export (AWWE) as donor and mentor for young women of Edo State in Nigeria, extraction.

She is also a member of Edo State Women’s Association (ESWA) UK, where she lectures and mentors young women with social challenges such as refugee, immigration irregularities or trafficked background.

Likewise, Loretta has actively worked with Edo Global Organisation UK (EGO) in several of the cross UK-Nigeria community help projects at grassroots level. Loretta contributed to discussions by Edo State government on controlling the spread of Covid-19 in the state at the height of the Pabdenic.

A member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in the UK, she is currently a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with the Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust. As well as an Obstetrics skills and drills lead with the Doncaster and Bassettlaw Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust.

Loretta Ogboro-Okor contributes to discussions that concern improvement of health care delivery in Nigeria and overseas. She is also part of a team working to stop illegal migration and trafficking from Nigeria.

She was lead for the health care policy group in the 2023 Obi-Datti presidential campaign and was a panelist at the Big Tent Coalition telethon televised on Nigerian television to raise funds for the Labor Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

In 2021, she was appointed into the Steering Committee for the set up of the Edo State Diaspora Agency by Gov.Godwin Obaseki.  Loretta Ogboro-Okor is part of the Midwestern Movement, calling for restructuring in Nigeria as a group.

Loretta is a recipient of pethora awards within and outside Nigeria.
Her long-term aspiration, is to continue positively affecting humanity. She intends to optimise her work with teams that have better global outreach, formulating policies for curbing women trafficking and other girl-child and women related Reproductive Health care challenges in sub-Saharan Africa.

As a medical simulator expert and Global Goodwill as well as Peace Ambassador, Loretta Oduware Ogboro-Okor along with team LHI in Edo State, have visited the three (3) Senatorial District in Edo State, giving free medical advocacy, tests, drugs and glasses as well as referring those who need to be sent to core specialists.
For team LHI, the volunteers, donors and service users , the vision remains Edo State Health in Edo State Hands
