BENIN CITY  Nigeria political world don enter mourning after Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, one important leader for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), don die.

Family of di late politician confirm say Orbih die for Monday, August 31, 2026, at di age of 64 years. Di family make di announcement for Tuesday through statement wey Francis Udukhomoi Orbih sign on behalf of di Orbih family.

Chief Dan Orbih na well known political figure for Edo State and South South Nigeria. E don serve for different important positions inside PDP, including as PDP National Vice Chairman for South South and former chairman of di party for Edo State.

Before im death, Orbih still dey play important role for Edo political space. For 2024, Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo appoint am as Chairman of di Governing Council of Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma.

Orbih also bin dey close politically to Nyesom Wike, wey be Minister of Federal Capital Territory. After di news of im death come out, Wike express deep sadness and describe Orbih as im true friend and committed political associate.
