The Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, on Friday, July 25, 2025, led a security delegation to Ahor and Uselu N’ Ahor communities in a bid to address the growing tensions arising from a boundary dispute between the two areas.
Joined by the Commander of the Nigerian Army 4 Brigade, the visit was part of coordinated efforts to de-escalate the situation, prevent violence, and promote peaceful coexistence among residents.
During the visit, the delegation met with traditional rulers, youth leaders, and key stakeholders from both communities, urging them to embrace dialogue and maintain law and order. The security chiefs emphasized that agencies remain impartial and are working to safeguard the lives and property of all citizens.
Residents were advised to remain patient and allow the appropriate government authorities to resolve the boundary issue through lawful channels.
The Edo State Police Command assured the public that security surveillance and deployments would continue in the area to forestall any breakdown of law and order. It also issued a stern warning that anyone caught inciting violence or disrupting peace will be prosecuted according to the law.
The Command called on all residents to remain calm, law-abiding, and supportive of efforts aimed at restoring lasting peace in the affected communities.
