It was revealed to Obaland magazine that the Edo State Government has paid workers and retirees salaries and pensions for the month of February, continuing the trend of meeting its statutory obligation well before the end of the month.
In a statement, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie Esq., said the development is the sequel to the governor’s directives, noting that the state government is determined to sustain the drive to ensure public servants and retirees get what is rightly due them for their service to the state.
According to him, “The Edo State Government has paid February salaries and pension of workers and retirees in the state. This is in line with Governor Godwin Obaseki-led’s government’s policy to meet statutory salary obligations to workers well before the end of the month.
“Edo State Government will sustain its worker-friendly disposition and expects workers to reciprocate this gesture by optimally meeting their duties and responsibilities to the state and its people.”
