The Edo State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has felicitated Esama of Benin Kingdom, Sir, Chief, Dr. Gabriel Osawaru Igbinedion on his 89th birthday and also assured him of the Association’s continuous support.
The Association gave the assurance when its chairperson, Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan, led the other members of the Association on a solidarity visit to the octogenarian
Typical of the Esama, a series of activities have been lined up to mark the birthday celebration, culminating in an exclusive dinner party which will be attended by the creme de la creme of the society across Edo State and the country.
Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan specifically thanked the Esama for his unflinching support to the Association, adding his financial aid and moral support as Patron of the Association had a significant impact on its various reach-out activities as well as the welfare of its members
In particular, she prayed for the Esama to attain a ripe old age in sound health while assuring him of their support and prayers
In his response, the Esama, radiant in his traditional regalia, expressed joy at the birthday visit by the Association, saying NAWOJ is so dear to his heart, adding he would not relent in supporting the body to attain its lofty ideals.
The high point of the visit was the presentation of a big birthday frame and a NAWOJ National Wrapper to the celebrant as well as a group photograph.
