Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Brigadier General O.O. Braimah, describing it as a significant loss to Edo State and the nation.
In a condolence message, the governor paid tribute to the late officer, whom he described as a proud son of Edo State who paid the ultimate price in service to Nigeria.
Okpebholo noted that the late general exemplified courage, discipline, and a strong sense of duty, adding that he remained committed to the peace and unity of the country until his death.
“This loss is not only felt by the Nigerian Army but also by Edo State and the country as a whole. While we mourn, we are also proud of the life he lived and the service he gave,” the governor said.
He described Braimah as a symbol of sacrifice and patriotism, whose service reflects the enduring values upon which the nation depends.
The governor extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and all those affected by the loss, urging them to take solace in the legacy he left behind.
He also prayed for the repose of the late general’s soul and for strength for those he left behind.
“Rest on, brave son of Edo State. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten,” he added.
