The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Edo State chapter, congratulates Aisha Bura at the just concluded 11th Triennial Delegates Conference held at Maryam Babangida Center for Women Development, Abuja on November 25, 2023.
Aisha Bura was declared winner by the Electoral Committee after polling 498 votes against Comrade Ladi Bala, the incumbent president, who polled 381 votes.
Lilian Okonkwo Ogabu was re-elected Deputy National President, National Secretary, Wasilah Ibrahim-ladan, Treasurer, Fatimah Rasheed, Financial secretary, Ifeoma Aka, Assistant Secretary, Aisha Cole and Auditor Jemilah Abubakar.
Stella Macaulay emerged Vice President of South South and Eunice Emeyazia as Zonal Secretary.
Chairperson, Edo NAWOJ, Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan wishes the new president of NAWOJ and her team a progressive and successful tenure.
She also congratulated the Zonal Vice President, South South, Stella Macaulay and Secretary, Eunice Emeyazia who was returned unopposed, for their victories at the polls.
Adesuwa Ehimuan further stated that this new breeds of leaders will take the Association to an enviable height and their administration will impact all women journalists across the country.
