Following the rumoured suspension of seven senior members of the Peoples Democratic Party,(PDP), in Edo State. The leadership of the party in Edo State has debunked the rumors.
The Edo State chapter party in a press statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Mr Chris Nehikhare, described the rumoured suspension as a false news which is being spread by trouble makers. Mr Chris Nehikhare stated that, ‘it is a joke taken too far’.
Recall that news about the suspension of seven senior members have been going round the media. The PDP chieftains were rumored to have been suspended over anti-party activities, after a vote of no confidence was passed on them.
The Edo State chapter of the party has thus denounced and condemned the rumoured suspension of it’s top members.
“The unauthorized, illegal, unconstitutional and irresponsible sharing of social media posts announcing suspensions of party officials is hereby condemned and denounced.
The allegedly suspended members are the Deputy national vice Chairman (south-south), Chief Dan Orbih, the Edo North Senatorial Chairman of the party and five other elected officials.
The Edo State publicity secretary of the PDP has therefore advised the people of Edo, Nigerians, members and supporters of the PDP to disregard reports of the alleged suspension.
“Consequently, Nigerians, Edo people and especially PDP members and supporters are advised to ignore the post, press release or communique purporting that the National Vice Chairman, Chief Dan Osi Orbih and other elected officials of the party from Edo North Senatorial district have been suspended.”
He also described the Edo PDP as a peaceful, united and vibrant party which encourage political engagements within the tenets of the constitution.
“Edo PDP is a peaceful, united and vibrant political party where dialogue is our watchword. We encourage political engagements and contestations which must be guided by the tenets of our constitution”
