In a swift response, the Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika, fdc, visited Uzeba community alongside the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), DCP Isah Lawal, to personally assess the situation. During the visit, the CP paid a condolence visit to the bereaved parents, Mr. and Mrs. Monday George, offering words of comfort on behalf of the Nigeria Police Force, Edo State Command.

While addressing community leaders and youths, the CP urged residents to remain calm and avoid taking laws into their own hands. He emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and order, assuring the people that the Police have taken full control of the case and commenced a detailed and impartial investigation to uncover the truth behind the incident. He further assured that justice will prevail and anyone found culpable will be brought to book.

The Commissioner of Police also visited Godswill Memorial Nursing Center, Uzeba, where two victims, God’spower Omage (20) and Ajayi Irobia (54), are receiving medical treatment. He assured them of justice and continued police support. The CP later visited the mortuary where the remains of the deceased were deposited and arranged for an autopsy and proper documentation as part of the ongoing investigation.

CP Agbonika has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Benin City, to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter. The Command assured the public that findings from the investigation will be made public once credible information is obtained.

The Edo State Police Command remains committed to justice, peace, and the protection of lives and property across the state.
