The Managing Director of the Edo State Public Building and Maintenance Agency (EDPUBMA), Hon. Okoyomoh Bawa Mohammed, has pledged that his administration will prioritise quality infrastructure, strict project monitoring, and result-driven service delivery across the state.
Hon. Mohammed made this known during his first official meeting with contractors operating in the state, held at the agency’s headquarters in Benin City.
Addressing the gathering, the EDPUBMA boss reaffirmed his commitment to building a sustainable and functional public infrastructure system that aligns with global standards and meets the long-term needs of Edo residents.
He announced that the agency would soon embark on comprehensive inspection tours of ongoing and completed government projects across the three senatorial districts of the state. According to him, the visits would serve as a platform for factual evaluation, improved planning, and enhanced accountability — not a witch-hunt against contractors.
“Our visits will enable us to understand the progress made and identify areas needing attention. The goal is not to find faults but to build a monitoring system that ensures Edo people get value for every naira spent on public infrastructure,” he stated.
While commending contractors for their past contributions, Hon. Mohammed warned against shoddy work, vowing that his administration would not compromise on quality. He emphasised the need for strict adherence to project timelines, technical specifications, and safety standards.
“My leadership style is driven by results. I will not tolerate mediocrity. Contractors must deliver as agreed, and where there are challenges, they must be communicated transparently,” he said.
He further assured the contractors of an open-door policy and a collaborative working relationship built on mutual respect, professionalism, and a shared commitment to Edo State’s development.
