Timileyin Ajayi, a gospel singer accused of killing Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps member, has pleaded not guilty to the crime. Ajayi was arraigned before Justice Simeon Aboki at Court 2 in Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Tuesday

The Nasarawa State Police Command arrested Ajayi on January 12 and charged him with culpable homicide punishable by death. Despite his plea, the police are committed to following up on the case until justice is served.
The Officer-in-Charge, Legal, of the Nasarawa State Police Command, Stanley Nwaforagu, expressed optimism that justice will be done, citing “overwhelming evidence” to sustain the charge. The case has been adjourned to March
Ajayi’s counsel, Joseph Tukur, assured that he will defend his client and ensure the prosecution proves the case beyond reasonable doubt.
Interestingly, Ajayi had earlier confessed to killing Adaidu, citing that she was cheating on him
The case has sparked widespread outrage, with many calling for justice for the deceased NYSC member
