Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has delivered the state from disarray to harmony in nine months of his administration.
This was disclosed by Prof. Felix Orhiakhi, who is from the department of Political Science, Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State during a stakeholders Sensitization Workshop organized by the Ministry of Information and Communication in Benin City.
According to him, the activities of the Governor which would be for the benefit of all Edo Citizens should be acknowledged and supported by everyone, including the opposition political parties.
According to the University Don, the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo should be commended for keeping his campaign promises to make Edo people happy.
“There was a time when the relationship between the Government and traditional institution was in disarray, but Governor Okpebholo has restored harmony. The Ambrose Alli University, AAU Ekpoma has been turned around and we are very grateful for turning around the education sector in the state. The workers were not paid, but immediately Governor Okpebholo was sworn in, he has paid them and they are very happy with the government
Prof. Felix Orhiakhi, who developed a concept, ‘Okpebholism’ for the governor’s willingness to deliver the state from disarray to harmony in a short time, advised that the Governor should not be discouraged, rather, the citizens should pray and support him to continue to do the good works he is doing across the state.
The Head of Service, HOS, Dr. Anthony Okungbowa, Esq. disclosed that since his assumption of office, November 12th, 2024 Governor Okpebholo has been intentionally concerned about the people of the state
The HOS who represented the Governor at the stakeholders workshop said it has been a splendid journey so far, adding that, it was the next day the Governor assumed office that he started inspecting projects, hitting the ground running
” Such has been the pragmatism with which the Governor has governed the state. A desire to uplift the lives of the people and he is intentional about it,” he added.
The Commissioner of Information and Communication, Hon Paul Ohonbamu in his welcome address disclosed that the whole essence of governance is to make people happy and that is what Governor Okpebholo has been doing.
According to him, this is the third series of the stakeholders engagement aimed at enlightening the people of the state on the achievements of the Governor and to get the views of the people that will assist the government to make decisions
