Harris slams Trump in first US presidential campaign rally

Kamala Harris, the US vice president and likely Democratic nominee, held her first official campaign rally in Wisconsin, expressing her readiness to take on Donald Trump in the upcoming presidential election. Speaking to a crowd in the battleground state, Harris pledged to unite the Democratic Party and work towards winning the election in November.

Her rally comes after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race, citing concerns about his age and fitness to serve another term. Although Harris has not been officially confirmed as the Democratic Party’s nominee, she has secured enough votes from delegates, according to The Associated Press. Harris’s candidacy has injected excitement into the Democratic race and has garnered support from influential Democrats and record-breaking fundraising.

Her campaign is focusing on key states and younger voters of color as she prepares to face Trump in November. Harris has faced criticism from the Republican Party, with Trump attacking her record and calling her “Lyin’ Kamala.” However, experts have debunked these claims and highlighted that Harris is not in charge of border policies. Harris has emphasized key issues such as access to reproductive healthcare, economic opportunity, and the defense of democratic institutions. She has positioned her campaign as a people-powered campaign and pledged to build up the middle class and give all Americans the chance to get ahead. Harris also highlighted her history as a prosecutor, vowing to put her record against Trump’s.

The upcoming election will present voters with a choice between two different visions for the country.
