Guinness World Record holder Hilda Baci has announced plans to cook what she hopes will become the world’s largest pot of jollof rice, using 250 bags of rice for the feat.
Baci, who earned global recognition in 2023 after setting the record for the longest cooking marathon, revealed the details in a video shared on Instagram on Monday.
According to her, the specially designed giant pot for the challenge has a volume of 22,619 liters, and she intends to fill it up to at least 75 to 80 percent. Achieving this, she explained, would require 5,278 kilograms of rice.
“I made an executive decision to do 250 bags,” Baci said, adding that the cooking will also involve 1,583 kilograms of tomato paste to ensure the rice is properly flavored.
She assured that the tomato base will be evenly distributed to produce what she described as “the most delicious, largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice you have ever tasted.”
