The Member Representing Edo South Senatorial District at the Nigerian Youth Parliament, National Assembly Abuja – Hon. Stewart Osazuwa has  addressed Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria as an icon for his show of support towards the National Youth Development Commission Bill.
In the words of Stewart, “The speaker of the House of Representatives has shown loyalty to Nigeria as a nation and respect to the youths as the nation’s driving force by reason of his heartfelt support for the bill proposed to establish the National Youth Development Commission.”
“I understand that this bill as sponsored by Hon. Simon Karu is chiefly to promote the establishment of an architecture, that will collectively address youth development challenges along the trajectory of Social, Economic and Political aggrandizement in Nigeria.”
“As the body of Senatorial Youth Representatives, we studied the proposed bill and developed our recommendations, corrections and views to certain parts which we figured needed to be adjusted.”
“Our input has been presented and sent across during the public hearing of Thursday (organized by the House Committee on Youth) and we anticipate the intelligent incorporation of our adjustments into the document as the bill makes it way through several debates and considerations and other legislative process in the National Assembly.”
“Mr. Speaker, be rest assured of the commitment of the Nigerian Youths to realign focus, towards the angle of positive norm when the contents contained in this bill materializes.”
“We are according to the youth policy characterized by energy, enthusiasm, ambition, creativity and promise. But we are also faced with high levels of socio-economic uncertainty and volatility thereby becoming the most, vulnerable segment of the population. Mobilization of necessary support for the attempts to improve on the productivity of youths in Nigeria is a welcome development, since it will help us convert the many tumultuous effects of youth restiveness into positive harvests.”
“I must also commend my Youth Parliament Speaker, Rt. Hon. Dr. Azeezat Yishawu for her vision, as she moves continuously on the pathway of strong advocacy and campaign, to see that Youth population of the federation are truly federated in their disposition, character and dealings.”
There is still hope when we forcibly tie our sentiments with the rope of “we must be better as a people” mindset.
