Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has condemned the explosion at Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State, which killed two police officers, Inspector Bartholomew Kalawa and Corporal Mustapha Huzaifat
The attack, which occurred on January 2025, at around 12:10 a.m., was carried out by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
Egbetokun has ordered an immediate and thorough clampdown on the perpetrators, stating that anyone involved in killing police officers will be punished. The IG has also extended condolences to the families of the deceased officers and assured them of the prompt payment of their benefits and entitlements.
The police have directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in Zone 15, Kenechukwu Onwuemelie, to deploy all necessary resources and personnel to track down the perpetrators and bring them to justice.
