According to reports, a 61-year-old lady was one of those killed in the volatile city of Jenin.
Israeli officials have claimed that they sent in troops to stop “serious strikes” being planned by Islamic Jihad.
The Palestinian leadership initially blamed Israel for a “massacre,” then stated it would no longer work with Israel on security concerns.
At the same time, Palestinian officials said that a tenth Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli forces in the village of al-Ram, close to Jerusalem, as locals demonstrated against the Jenin operation.
After two rockets were fired into Israel, Israel claimed to have launched airstrikes overnight against Palestinian terrorists in Gaza. Both missiles were shot down by Israeli air defences, and no one in Gaza has claimed credit.
The AFP news agency stated that no casualties had been recorded on either side as a result of the strike in Gaza, but the full extent of the damage is still unclear.
There has been a recent increase in tensions in the West Bank as the Israeli military maintains what it calls an anti-terrorism offensive that began last year in response to a slew of fatal assaults in Israel.
