The Chief Medical Director of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, has been honoured with the Exceptional Medical Administrator of the Year Award by the Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
The honour was bestowed on Thursday during activities marking the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration held at the Edo State Government House.Professor Ize-Iyamu was recognised for her outstanding contributions to healthcare administration and her role as a source of inspiration to women and young girls across Edo State.
Presenting the award, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah, described the UBTH Chief Medical Director as a successful career woman and a role model whose achievements continue to inspire the next generation of female professionals.
Abdallah commended Professor Ize-Iyamu for her exemplary leadership, dedication and commitment to improving healthcare delivery.
“In recognition of your outstanding leadership, dedication and exceptional contributions to effective healthcare administration.Your commitment to excellence, innovation and quality service has significantly strengthened healthcare delivery and improved the lives of many.
