As political activities ahead of the 2027 Edo South senatorial election gather momentum, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has continued to attract strong backing from key stakeholders within the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly in Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
During a recent engagement with party leaders and stakeholders in the area, Ize-Iyamu commended Governor Monday Okpebholo for ongoing infrastructural development across parts of the state. He specifically highlighted road projects in Ute, Teboga, and the University of Benin axis, including the access road leading to the residence of Hon. Julius Agbonze, Chairman of APC in Orhionmwon LGA, where the stakeholders’ meeting was held.
Speaking at the meeting, Hon. Agbonze, alongside party leaders and elders, declared their support for Ize-Iyamu’s senatorial ambition. They described him as a seasoned politician with a proven track record, noting his accessibility and commitment to grassroots development.
The leaders also pledged to mobilize party members and resources toward ensuring his success at both the APC primaries and the general election.
In his response, Ize-Iyamu expressed appreciation for the endorsement and reaffirmed his commitment to effective representation if elected. He promised to prioritize development initiatives, youth empowerment, and policies that would improve the standard of living across Edo South.
He further called for unity within the party, urging members to work collaboratively to achieve victory in the forthcoming elections and deliver quality representation to the people.
Several stakeholders at the meeting expressed confidence in his experience and political capacity, stating that he remains well-positioned to represent the interests of Edo South at the National Assembly.
