The Kogi State government has warned youths in Okunland to stop assisting kidnappers and bandits, vowing to treat those who aid these criminal elements as terrorists. According to the State Security Adviser, Jerry Omadara, intelligence reports indicate that some youths in Okunland have been using motorcycles to transport weapons and foodstuff to bandits in the forest.

Omadara alleged that about seven Okun youths are already on the government’s radar for receiving payments from bandits. He also claimed that some women in the area have become girlfriends to bandits, supplying them with food items and vital information. Furthermore, Omadara stated that some individuals in Yagba West have paid bandits to avoid being kidnapped
