A couple in Lagos narrowly escaped death on Friday after a container fell on their Lexus Jeep at the Toyota bus stop on the Apapa-Oshodi Expressway. According to the Director of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, the incident occurred in the evening, and the agency received a distress call at about 6:35 pm.

The couple, a 45-year-old man and a 37-year-old woman, were rescued from the wreckage of their vehicle by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service.
The incident occurred when one of the containers being conveyed by a Mack Trailer accidentally fell on the rear side of the couple’s vehicle while it was in motion.
Adeseye stated that both victims were taken through trauma therapy to ascertain their well-being, and the trailer driver, who also escaped unscathed, was present during the therapy session.
The remains of the vehicles were cleared off the highway by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) after the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) cleared the ensuing traffic backlog.
