The Chairman of Egor Local Government Area, Hon. Dr. Kelvin Ighodaro Eguakun, on Saturday defied heavy rainfall to personally monitor the monthly environmental sanitation exercise across the council area.
Despite the downpour, Dr. Eguakun toured key locations including Uselu Market, Uselu-Lagos Road by Five Junction, and other strategic spots, ensuring strict compliance with environmental sanitation directives.
His presence, according to residents and sanitation enforcement officers, boosted morale and reinforced the council’s seriousness in tackling issues of public hygiene.
Speaking during the exercise, the Chairman reminded citizens that cleanliness remains a collective responsibility. He urged residents to cultivate the habit of keeping their surroundings clean, stressing that a healthy environment is key to preventing avoidable disease outbreaks.
Dr. Eguakun reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to prioritizing sanitation and environmental sustainability, assuring that Egor Local Government will not relent in its drive to promote a cleaner, healthier community.
