A man known by the nickname “Doctor” has allegedly stabbed his lover, Ima, to death in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The tragic incident happened on Sunday night at Okereke Street, Mile 1 Diobu, sparking panic among residents. According to witnesses, the couple got into a heated argument after the man accused his partner of cheating. In the middle of the quarrel, he reportedly pulled a knife and fatally stabbed her.
The caretaker of the compound quickly alerted the police, who arrived at the scene, arrested the suspect, and evacuated the body.
Police spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the arrest, adding that the Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, has ordered the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.
