May Yul-Edochie Demands N1.5 Billion Over Alleged Cyberbullying and Defamation

May Yul-Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has issued a cease-and-desist notice to her former lawyer, Emeka Ugwuonye, and a US-based woman, Yinka Theisen, over allegations of cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and defamation. Through her lawyers, Graylaw Partners, May Yul-Edochie claims that both individuals made damaging online publications against her on social media platforms, including X formerly Twitter Instagram, and Facebook.May Yul-Edochie Demands N1.5 Billion Over Alleged Cyberbullying and Defamation

May Yul-Edochie’s lawyers allege that Ugwuonye and Theisen’s actions have caused harm to her reputation and business interests. They demand that they stop making such publications, withdraw existing posts, issue a public apology, and publish a retraction on all platforms where the statements were made. May Yul-Edochie is seeking financial compensation of N1 billion from Ugwuonye and N500 million from Theisen.

May Yul-Edochie’s lawyers also accuse Ugwuonye of breaching trust and professional ethics, alleging that he used privileged information to undermine her interests. They claim that his conduct has worsened the situation and exposed her to further harm.

The letters to Ugwuonye and Theisen set a 48-hour deadline for compliance with the demands. Failure to act within the timeframe would compel May Yul-Edochie to initiate both civil and criminal proceedings to protect her rights and reputation.
