How did I come up with the business idea?
It was a whisper. Divine Whisper. Born from my Desire to make Sure Africans eat from the healthy soil of Africa, well packaged natural Foods, Condiments and Marinades and smoothies, and Making sure we eat our Medicines and stay healthy.
You know Medicines are Delicious when cooked into foods. Moreover Hygienically Home Made Meals are always a home feel.
What were you doing before this, and is this your first business?
Before this business I was a businesswoman, have always been a businesswoman Hahahahahahaha… Ok, I am a Hotelier. I was once a servant(General Manager) in some organizations and facilities, the funny thing was I was answering General Manager enjoying the benefits with Staff and servants at my back en call, yet I get a salary which never can be juxtaposed with my hard work and intellectual property invested in building this business (People’s Businesses) yet my pay still get deducted where need be and as a Wife and Mother I never would have enough time for my family due to my very busy schedule in running other people’s businesses, Funny thing is, each time I resign from each of these establishments all the Benefits I enjoy as General Manager is taken and handed over to whoever succeeds me, leaving me with no long term benefits.
So one day I sat myself down and advised myself to QUIT and build a legacy for my Generation, I liaised with my husband to build my own brand and create more jobs as well as lay a foundation for my children and generation to follow thereby register my presence once again here on earth with a Brand that benefits the health of everyone. Then ROYPOW Came, Snackeries, and smoothies to help our already existing Anns Premium Ventures one of our Businesses my Toffee Sorry I meant Darling Husband Mr. Andrews Cudjoe Asare(Mr. Bombastic)is the President and I humbly Vice Him. Like I said Earlier I was and still is a Hotelier before ROYPOW foods and Marinades came to be. Marble Arch Hotels Awka Anambra state Nigeria is one of the Hotels I Managed in Nigeria before joining my husband back home in Ghana then others in Ghana. I threw in the towel of HOSPITALITY SERVICE Management consult to Build Fully the Rock of ROYPOW Foods in 2020 due to Covid 19 Power Wheel…
And doing Longrich by the side. Which is why you see me referred to as Longrich Evangelist….lol. I and my husband actually are the couple who brought Longrich to Ghana and SACRIFICED everything to get it established in Ghana and believe me it is a Success story as well. We Bless GOD.
For women entrepreneurs, what specific advice would you have for young women who would like to become an entrepreneur? Are there specific advantages, disadvantages to being a women business owner?
To every young woman who would love to be an entrepreneur or even a Multiprenuer, I would say Go for it!!! If you can conceive it, you can do it!!! but not if you are not passionate about it. Passion comes before Success!!! Except you are passionate about it, You can’t multitask it!!! if it is just about the money, believe me, the drive wheel will be unbalanced and may develop cramps before you even start. So whatever business or businesses you set your mind to venture into requires Passion, Determination, Sacrifice, passion again! Humility, Devotion. Good Customer relationship as that is the Fuel to keep the business success Car permanently moving to the “permanent site”…lol
Advantages of being a woman business owner?
My number one is Fulfillment then inflow of Cash…Having your own cash without being a parasite or feeling entitled over other people’s hard work and extending hands of assistance to others, Providing Jobs for people, and putting foods on tables beyond your table. Knowing you are contributing your “Coin” to the alleviation of poverty in our Mother Land and beyond gives huge advantage and above all having time for your family e.g your husbands
and kids most importantly if you are a Family woman and having time for your relationship with those seriously dating and considering building a family with that pointed the advantages are numerous if you are equipped for what you do and do it right.
The Disadvantages are the same challenges every business face, let’s say sourcing, losing your farm produce which happens sometimes, Investment Capital …etc are a few of the challenges aside that I see every disadvantage as a step to success so I don’t take the record to avoid scaring potential young minds who may want to venture into the homemade food industry.
