Nigeria Police Force Record Breakthrough in Ahor, Recover Two AK-47 Rifles The Edo State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has recorded a major breakthrough in Ahor, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, with the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and the arrest of four suspects linked to recent communal unrest in the area. Communities in Uselu N’Ahor had recently experienced violent clashes, forcing several residents to flee their homes following attacks and destruction of property. In response to the crisis, the Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, ordered the immediate deployment of tactical and intelligence teams to the affected communities on February 18, 2026. According to the Command, combined teams of operatives carried out a coordinated, intelligence-led operation, combing identified flashpoints and criminal hideouts under the supervision of the Divisional Police Officer. The operation led to the arrest of four suspects and the recovery of two AK-47 rifles and two magazines loaded with 33 rounds of live ammunition. The suspects arrested are: Jabir Saleh Musa Lawal (a.k.a. Gambo) Gaddafi Iliyasu Salau Haliru Police said preliminary investigations are ongoing and the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation. The Command stated that peace has been restored to the previously troubled communities, with residents gradually returning to their homes following renewed security assurances. CP Agbonika urged displaced residents to resume their lawful activities, assuring them that adequate security measures have been put in place to safeguard lives and property. He reiterated that the Command will not tolerate violence or criminality in any part of Edo State, warning that anyone found threatening public peace will be dealt with in accordance with the law. The Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Eno Ikoedem, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations to ensure lasting peace across the state.
