Agents from the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported rejecting a N10 million bribe offered to release a suspect, Tsolaye Eburajolo, detained in Lagos. Eburajolo, 40, was taken into custody in connection with a large drug interception involving millions of tramadol pills and codeine-based syrups with a street value of over N16.6 billion. The drugs were found in flagged containers during a thorough inspection at the Tin Can Port in Lagos and the Onne Port in Rivers State.

During the investigation, additional illegal substances were discovered, including millions of tablets of Toradol Benzhexol and drums of methamphetamine. Another 28kg of a potent synthetic cannabis strain, known as “Loud,” was seized from a shipment originating from Canada.

In a follow-up operation, NDLEA officers intercepted nearly 300 ampoules of promethazine and pentazocine injection, along with concealed cannabis and tramadol tablets hidden within hair extensions and shoe soles destined for the United States, United Kingdom, and Oman.

On October 12, NDLEA operatives seized tramadol pills hidden in shoe soles intended for Cyprus, later recovering more pills from the sender’s home in Enugu.

Further investigations led to raids in Lagos, where agents discovered 2,760kg of Ghanaian cannabis at a shrine in Ajah. Three suspects were arrested, including two men in possession of 770kg of the same substance along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

In another case, agents uncovered an underground storage room holding thousands of tramadol, molly, Rohypnol, and diazepam pills, along with codeine syrup.
