The Nigeria Police Force has restated its commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of officers and their families, especially those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty.
Speaking during a condolence presentation, the Force leadership extended heartfelt sympathy to the widows, children, and relatives of the fallen officers, assuring them that they remain part of the larger Police family.
“While nothing can replace the lives lost or fill the emptiness left behind, it is our sincere hope that this gesture will bring some comfort and relief to the affected families,” the message read.
The statement emphasized that the leadership of the Force, under the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, remains deeply committed to improving the welfare, safety, and morale of all personnel. It also noted that several measures are being put in place to strengthen welfare packages, insurance coverage, and other benefits that ensure the wellbeing of officers and their dependents.
The Inspector-General further urged serving officers to carry out their duties with courage, discipline, and integrity, reminding them that their sacrifices are recognized and appreciated by the Force and the nation at large.
He also commended the efforts of the Insurance Unit, the Force Headquarters, the Police Trust Fund, and all stakeholders who worked tirelessly to make the welfare presentation a success. “On behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, I extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and our sincere appreciation to everyone who joined us in this solemn but meaningful occasion,” it concluded.
The statement ended with a prayer for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes and a call for continued unity within the Police family.
“May the souls of our fallen heroes rest in perfect peace. Amen.
Thank you, and God bless the Nigeria Police Force.”
