“Ondo Ex Lawmakers Rally Behind APC National Assembly Aspirants Ahead of 2027 Polls”
Former members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have thrown their weight behind prospective candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking National Assembly seats in the 2027 general election, describing the endorsement as a strategic step toward strengthening party unity and consolidating electoral success.
The endorsement was made during a gathering of former legislators, where the group called on APC members across Ondo State to close ranks, avoid internal divisions, and work collectively to ensure the party remains competitive ahead of the next general elections.
The ex-lawmakers emphasized that unity within the ruling party would be critical to sustaining its political influence in the state and improving its chances in the forthcoming National Assembly contests. They urged party stakeholders, leaders, and grassroots supporters to prioritize dialogue, reconciliation, and cooperation over factional interests.
The group also commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, praising what they described as ongoing efforts to implement reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economy, governance, and national development. They encouraged citizens to continue supporting the federal government’s policies, expressing confidence that the reforms would yield long-term benefits despite current economic challenges.
According to the former legislators, the APC remains well-positioned to retain public confidence if party members remain united and committed to effective leadership. They further appealed to aspirants and supporters to conduct their political activities peacefully and in accordance with the party’s constitution and democratic principles.
Political observers note that endorsements by influential party stakeholders often play a significant role in shaping internal party dynamics ahead of primary elections, although the eventual selection of candidates will depend on the APC’s official nomination processes and electoral guidelines issued by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
As preparations for the 2027 general election gradually gather momentum, political alignments and endorsements are expected to intensify across Nigeria, particularly within the country’s major political parties.
