The Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri, has commended the outgoing Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade John Osabuohien, for his exemplary leadership and unwavering support for the management and staff of the Council.
Hon. Iduseri noted that Comrade Osabuohien’s tenure was marked by peace, stability, and constructive collaboration, which helped foster a harmonious working environment within the Council.
He therefore urged him to ensure a smooth and peaceful transition process.
The Council boss also formally welcomed the newly constituted Oredo NULGE Caretaker Committee, chaired by Comrade Ehigie Courage.
He charged members of the interim committee to work closely with all stakeholders to sustain peace, promote unity, and prioritise workers’ welfare ahead of the forthcoming union elections.
It would be recalled that in December 2025, NULGE conducted its elections through an electoral college system, which produced Comrade Queen Igbineweka as Chairman of Oredo NULGE. However, the election was subsequently annulled by the Local Government Service Commission on the grounds that due electoral procedures were not properly followed.
Hon. Iduseri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to industrial harmony and staff welfare, emphasising the need for cooperation and adherence to due process as Oredo NULGE prepares for a rerun election to ensure credible and transparent leadership within the union.
In his remarks, the Head of Local Government Administration, Engr. Emmanuel Ibadoje, thanked the Chairman for his guidance and charged members of the Caretaker Committee to work diligently in supporting the Council under the leadership of Hon. Engr. Gabriel Iduseri.
