The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has set its sights on expanding its influence across Nigeria, aiming to secure more governorship positions and reclaim power at the national level in 2027.
According to the PDP National Working Committee (NWC), widespread dissatisfaction and economic hardship have created a favorable environment for the party’s resurgence.
Speaking on behalf of the NWC, National Treasurer Alhaji Ahmed Yayare emphasized that Nigerians are yearning for change and that the PDP is poised to produce more governors in 2027.
Yayare underscored the PDP’s position as the only credible opposition capable of challenging the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The NWC revealed plans to visit PDP-governed states, urging party governors to close ranks and align strategies ahead of the next general election.
Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri stressed the need for unity among PDP governors, calling on them to prioritize collective progress over personal interests.
Diri reaffirmed his loyalty to the PDP and warned against internal sabotage, emphasizing the party’s critical role in forming a “mega party” capable of leading Nigeria out of its current struggles.
