Police arrest 298 suspects in JigawaThe Jigawa State Police Command arrested 298 suspects for suspected criminal activities in the third quarter of 2023.

This was stated in a statement by the Command Spokesperson, DSP Lawan Seeth, in Dutse on Wednesday.

He said police recovered 64 stolen animals and firearms and rescued six kidnapped victims as part of special operations during the reporting period.

Other items seized include 560 bags of Cannabis Sativa and numerous drugs.

“During the period of study, the crime prevention strategies adopted by the Jigawa Police Command in the ongoing fight against all forms of crime and delinquency in the state were such that residents carried out their legitimate duties without assistance while the state “The fear of harassment was successful because it remained largely calm.”

“This achievement was made possible thanks to the proactive measures of the command, whose personnel worked tirelessly to deter the activities of criminals and create a peaceful atmosphere,” he said.

He commended the Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Kayode Egbeyokun, the Jigawa State Government and other security agencies for their support to the command.

Mr Sheath reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property and appealed to the people of the state to support the police in the fight against crime.
